If It Wasn't So Cold
If it wasn't so cold,
maybe I'd lie here with you
in the snow.
Maybe we could be
the angels
everyone's always
trying to make.
And if you cried,
I'd hold you tight,
and wipe your tears
away.
And then they'd all
begin to freeze.
Our color
starts to fade.
Your lips would touch
my cold cold cheek,
and share with me
their warmth.
And then we'd
wrap ourselves
in love,
and watch
the reaper
come.
