Snow

Crying dreamers,
breaking like glass,
shattered from her eyes
one by one.
Crystals falling,
a rainbow
from sadness.
A phoenix from the ashes
settles on her shoulder
and tells her
it'll never be bad like that
again.
Softly snow
covers like a blanket,
slowly suffocates
and freezes
flake by flake.
A silent shining end,
but beautiful.
Seducing,
glowing night air
sucking the life
from its victims.
Then, like a crash,
a distant thunder,
an avalanche
of sparkling promises
drowning truth.
And who'll be next
to find
this buried treasure?
Or will it lie here
forever?
Its essence
sought by many,
is it found in pain
or ecstasy?
Or is it just
the beauty
of the simple snow
falling down,
and landing on your face
like birds
huddled up
for winter,
forever weighing you down.
